Received, Not Chased Down

Some healing isn't chased down. It's received at the table with open hands, nothing earned.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Isaiah 26:3

There’s a posture toward healing that treats it like something to be pursued with enough effort — the right prayer, the right formula, the right amount of persistence, as though wholeness were a locked door that simply needed the correct combination.

Communion offers a different posture entirely. It isn’t a strategy session for solving what’s broken. It’s a table — bread and cup, offered, not earned, received rather than extracted through effort.

Some healing isn’t chased down. It’s received at the table the same way the bread and the cup are received: open hands, nothing performed, nothing proven, simply present to accept what’s already being offered. That’s a genuinely different posture than striving — and for anyone exhausted from trying to produce their own breakthrough, it might be the more honest one to practice.

Isaiah’s promise of perfect peace isn’t given to those who’ve solved their problems. It’s given to the mind that stays fixed on God, trusting Him, regardless of whether the problem has resolved yet. That’s not passivity. It’s a different kind of active — receiving instead of striving, trusting instead of managing.

Prayer

Lord, I bring my need for healing to the table today, not to earn it through effort but to receive it as a gift already offered. Keep my mind stayed on You, trusting rather than striving. Let Your peace hold me even before the healing is fully visible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

Healing is not something I chase down. It is received at the table, with open hands, nothing earned.
