A dream doesn’t have to be dramatic to matter. Sometimes it’s as ordinary as standing backstage in a large venue, waiting through a sound check before ever stepping into the light — nothing happening yet, just preparation, testing, adjustment.
It’s tempting to want the dream to skip straight to the stage. To wake up frustrated that the platform hasn’t arrived yet, that the microphone is still being tested, that the moment everyone will see hasn’t started.
But the sound check exists for a reason. Nobody wants feedback screeching through the speakers the moment the real audience arrives. What’s tested and adjusted in private is what makes the public moment actually work.
The platform isn’t ready just because you are — or more precisely, you may be ready in some ways and not yet in others, and the waiting isn’t wasted time. It’s the sound check. The message is being tested in private before it’s ever released in public, and that testing is not a delay of the calling. It’s part of it.
If you’re in a season that feels like waiting in the wings — prepared, but not yet on stage — it’s worth asking what’s actually being adjusted right now, rather than only asking when the wait will end. The vision hastens to its appointed time. It hasn’t stalled. It’s being tuned.
Prayer
Father, thank You that the waiting isn’t wasted. If I’m in a sound-check season right now, help me trust what’s being tuned rather than resent the delay. The vision You’ve given me will not lie — it hastens to its appointed time, even when I can’t yet see the stage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration
What is being tested in me right now is preparing me for what will be released. The waiting is not delay — it is tuning.
