The Pit Is Not the End
Day 2 – When Everything Feels Like It’s Falling Apart
“They saw him from afar, and before he came near to them they conspired against him to kill him.” — Genesis 37:18 (ESV)
There are moments in life when it feels like everything we thought we knew is suddenly shaken.
Joseph was favored by his father, marked by dreams, and full of promise.
But before his dreams unfolded, he was thrown into a pit by his own brothers.
No warning.
No explanation.
Just betrayal.
When You Feel Dropped
Sometimes the pain isn’t just from the fall — it’s from who pushed you.
The people Joseph trusted the most were the ones who stripped him of his coat and cast him into the pit.
But even in that dark, empty place — God never left him.
The pit is not the end.
It’s the beginning of transformation.
You may feel dropped. Forgotten. Rejected.
But the God who writes Joseph stories is still writing yours.
He sees where you are. And He knows how to lead you forward.
Pits Are Gateways
Joseph didn’t stay in the pit.
It became the unexpected doorway to his destiny — but not without a journey.
The pit led to slavery.
Slavery led to false accusation.
False accusation led to prison.
And prison eventually led to the palace.
What feels like delay may actually be divine acceleration.
God is working beneath the surface — even when you can’t see it.
Even when your surroundings don’t match the promise.
Journal & Reflect
– Where have you felt dropped or betrayed in this season?
– Can you identify a “pit” moment that God may be using to redirect your path?
Prayer
> Father, thank You that You never leave me in the pit.
> Even when others reject me, You still see me.
> I choose to believe that what looks like delay is part of Your divine setup.
> Strengthen me in the dark places.
> Help me trust that You are moving, even when I can’t trace You.
> I believe — this is not the end. It’s only the beginning.
> In Jesus’ name, amen.
